At least 10 persons were killed and over a dozen others injured when a bus carrying passengers fell into a ditch near here on Friday, the police said.
The accident took place at 11 a.m. on Friday near Mewasa village when the bus was on its way to Jawra from Ratlam.
Ratlam Superintendent of Police Abhilash Sharma said that 12 passengers were safely pulled out of the ill-fated bus, and relief and rescue operations are on.
The injured were taken to a local hospital in Ratlam, he said.
Although what caused the accident is yet to be established, Sharma said the driver apparently lost control over the bus near the open cast mine pit, which caused the accident.
The survivors said the accident happened as one of the tyres of the bus burst.
