Atletico Mineiro extended their lead at the top of Brazil's Serie A standings with a 1-0 victory over Figueirense, a media report said on Sunday.

Argentine forward Lucas Pratto struck the winner from the penalty spot after Marcos Rocha was brought down by Paulo Roberto, Xinhua news agency reported.

The result at the Independencia stadium lifted Atletico Mineiro to 32 points, three ahead of second-placed Corinthians, who were due to meet Coritiba on Sunday.

Figueirense fell to 15th in the 20-team standings with 16 points.
