Bangladesh court jails two rapists for life
A Bangladesh court Thursday jailed a bus driver and his helper for life for the rape of a teenaged girl a year ago.
District and Sessions Judge A.K.M. Mostofa of Manikganj town delivered the sentence to the men who had raped a female garment factory worker.
The convicted duo - driver Dipu Miah, 32, and helper Kashem Ali, 26 - were also fined Tk50,000 (around $630) each and ordered an additional three-year rigorous imprisonment if they could not pay up, reported The Daily Star.
The girl was raped in a moving bus Jan 24, last year.
