Barcelona agree to loan Tello to Fiorentina

FC Barcelona officially announced on Tuesday that striker Cristian Tello will be loaned to Serie A club Fiorentina for one football season.

The Italian club has an option to purchase the Spanish player for 8 million euros ($9 million) at the end of the 2016-17 season, although Barcelona confirmed that they can block this option, reports Efe.

Tello made a debut with the first team of Barcelona during the 2011-12 season, as he played for three seasons under the command of former coach Pep Guardiola.

The Spanish striker joined Porto on loan for two seasons in the summer of 2014, when he became a key player in the first season. But his role decreased in the next year due to the poor performance of the Portuguese side.

Tello moved to Fiorentina in the second half of last season, where he played 13 games, including 12 as a starter, and scored two goals.

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has not depended on Tello during the pre-season preparations, so the best option for the Spanish player was to rejoin Fiorentina.
