PNB rode on second half strikes to edge past IOC 2-0 in a Pool B quarterfinal league match at the 119th all India Beighton Cup hockey tournament here Friday.
The other Pool B encounter between ONGC and ERSA ended in 2-2. ONGC led 1-0 at the halftime.
In the day's first match, following a barren first half, Satpal Singh and Arjun Antil found the target to seal the deal for PNB. Singh struck the first from a penalty corner in the 54th minute, while the second was a field goal from Antil 13 mins later.
ERSA took the lead in the other exchange when Dipak Kullu converted a penalty stroke eight minutes before halftime.
After the break, M. Riyazuddin doubled the lead for his side in the 41st minute. However ONGC came back strongly and P.S. Somanna reduced the margin in the 54th minute, while Mandeep Antil scored the equaliser at the stroke of the hour.
