Czech Tomas Berdych overcame Austrian Dominic Thiem 6-3, 6-7 (1), 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in a last-16 clash at the Wimbledon tennis tournament here.
Berdych, seeded No. 11, achieved his second win over the 23-year-old Thiem after two hours and 53 minutes late on Monday evening, reports Efe news agency.
The 2017 French Open semifinalist Thiem, seeded No. 8, was playing in the last 16 at Wimbledon for the first time, but he could not manage to get over Berdych, despite his fighting spirit throughout the match.
Former Wimbledon finalist Berdych is now set to face off with the winner between Serbian Novak Djokovic and French Adrian Mannarino.
