Bollywood veterans Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini have congratulated Deepa Malik for winning a silver medal in the women's shotput F53 event at the 2016 Rio Paralympics Games.
Amitabh on Monday night shared on Twitter: "Deepa Malik... You made all India proud by winning the Silver at the ParaOlympics. Such an emotion to see the Tiranga (Indian flag) go up!"
Hema Malini said she was proud of Malik, who recorded a personal best of 4.61 metres at the 2016 Rio Paralympics Games on Monday.
"Deepa Malik creates history by winning the silver medal at the shotput event of the Paralympics! India is proud of you Deepa!" Hema tweeted.
After bagging the silver, an excited Malik said she wants to "use the medal to support women with disabilities in India".
