Broad to undergo knee surgery

England pacer Stuart Broad will be undergoing knee surgery next month ahead of the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in a statement Wednesday said Broad, who suffered a broken nose in the fourth Test against India, will be undergo the operation Sep 4 to cure a long-standing tendonitis problem.

"The ECB medical team confirmed that England pace bowler Stuart Broad is to have surgery on his right knee on Thursday 4 September," the ECB said in a statement.

"A rehabilitation and recovery program will be determined following the operation," the statement added.
