The Border Security Force (BSF) Wednesday arrested one person and seized fake notes of face value nearly Rs.13 lakh in West Bengal's Malda district.
Acting on a tip, the BSF troopers apprehended 35-year-old Mukul Miyan, a resident of Bamankuri village, from Churianpur village with the notes of face value Rs.12,95,500.
After a thorough search, the fake notes were found in packets of sweets. He was handed over to police for further interrogation, a BSF statement said.
The south Bengal frontier of the BSF has seized more than 53,83,500 fake Indian currency notes this year.
