On a high after leading India to an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match One-Day International (ODI) series against Sri Lanka, India's stand-in skipper Virat Kohli Wednesday said captaincy has opened up his vision and given him the opportunity to implement what he strongly believes will work in certain situations.

"There have been times in the past when, at the intensity I played, I used to often feel that a certain move could be implemented and then wondered why that was not happening. But as a captain I have the opportunity to open up my vision and implement what I strongly believe will work in certain situations," said Kohli, who is leading the side due to unavailability of injured regular skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

"I have always believed that if I set the field and the bowlers go in to take wickets, more often than not, the bowlers will take wickets," said a confident Kohli, who has also shone with the bat collecting 124 runs at an average of 41.33 in the three matches.

But he also showered praise on his Indian team members for the support they have given him.

"These guys have been eager to implement my ideas. Everyone has positive thoughts going into the plans. As I say, the captain is as good as his players.

"I look good as captain because everyone is backing and giving their 100 percent. I feel the guys have responded beautifully."

Asked how emotional he would feel if his team wins the series 5-0, Kohli said: "I am not aware of what kind of record we can make. I want to keep the atmosphere right. We are now winning. But there will be a time when we won't be winning and won't get the right results.

"It's important that the guys feel comfortable even when we aren't winning. Our focus is to think of what we can do."
