An excited Virat Kohli rates the opportunity to captain India in the first cricket Test against Australia in Brisbane as a "massive moment" in his life, saying that he would focus on how to win the match rather than on individual contributions.
"It is a massive moment for me to lead the Test team in Australia," Kohli told reporters at the Eden Gardens here Wednesday on the eve of the One-Day International (ODI) against Sri Lanka.
It will also be Kohli's first Test as India skipper, with regular captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni unavailable following a right thumb injury. Dhoni is expected to lead India from the second Test in the four-Test series Down Under.
Kohli said he had lot of plans for Australia.
"I am very excited. The focus will be on how to win the match and not on individual contributions. For instance, someone scoring 30 can also make the difference between winning and losing."
