Cardboard-making factory gutted in Gurgaon

A cardboard manufacturing and exporting company here was gutted in a major fire on Friday, fire officials said. No one was injured in the incident.

A major fire broke out in Suhaan International located in Pace City 1 industrial area in sector 37 near the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway, said fire officer Sukhbir Singh, adding that as the premises contained cardboard, cartons and other such items, the blaze spread fast across the factory's three storey building.

Nearly one dozen fire tenders were pressed into service to control the blaze and took more than two hours to douse it.

The exact cause behind the fire could not be not ascertained immediately, but fire officers said a short circuit was probably the reason.
