Union Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma on Wednesday announced development of recreational facilities and attractions for tourists at the Mehtab Bagh, opposite the iconic Taj Mahal.

He was impressed with the site across the Yamuna river and said the area could be easily promoted as a tourist spot.

Interacting with tourism industry leaders here, the minister said the cooperation of all segments was vital to give a boost to tourism in this region.

The Taj Heritage Corridor will also be cleaned up soon once the green signal was received from the Supreme Court, he added.

The minister also released a DVD 'Taj Mahal: A Monument of Love'.
