Kolkata-based power company CESC Ltd on Tuesday said it is widening its e-payment scope and is focusing on bettering its online consumer experience.
"We are adding atleast one online payment option every month. Use of mobile wallet is on the rise," company's general manager, customer relations, Amitava Shome told media persons here at an event organised by MCC Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He said payment options via gateway aggregator, PayU will be rolled out. The firm is also in talks with Mobiquick to add its services in the electricity bill payment options.
"We will also introduce a service where the debit card PIN will only be needed for making the payments," he said.
CESC Ltd. has already introduced several online payment options.
Vice president, distribution services, Avijit Ghosh said it is offering an additional one percent rebate on the bill value for e-payments.
"In addition to the one percent rebate, we are also offering Rs. 5 discount each month for customers who are opting for e-bills," he said.
CESC has also introduced an online energy calculator on its website which lets a consumer calculate the tentative power usage and the resulting bill.
"In the last Wednesday of every month, from 4-5 p.m., we will directly chat with our customers.. this will enable us to connect to our customers better," he said.
Sanjiv Goenka, chairman of RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group which owns CESC, has aimed to make the power firm one of the best consumer-friendly companies in the country.
