Riding on his two match-winning knocks against Bangladesh in the second Test, West Indies' veteran batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul leapfrogged Angelo Mathews and David Warner to be positioned third in the latest ICC Test rankings released Wednesday.
The 40-year-old left-hander scored 84 not out and an unbeaten 101, his 30th career century, to end the series as the second highest run-getter with 270.
The batting table is headed by Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara, who is ahead of second-placed AB de Villiers of South Africa by 27 points.
There were positive advancements for a couple of Bangladeshi batsmen. Opener Tamim Iqbal, who scored 48 and 64, has vaulted seven places to 37th while teammate, Mahmudullah, has soared nine places to 71st following his half-century in the first innings.
In the bowlers' rankings, West Indies' pacer Kemar Roach has gained one place after taking six wickets in the second Test and is now on a career-high ninth spot.
Windies' left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn, who picked up 5/72 in the second innings, moved up three places to a career-best 21st spot while Jerome Taylor is the biggest mover, gaining 12 places to claim 40th position.
While no Indian figures in the top-10 of ICC Test batsmen or bowlers, Ravichandran Ashwin continues to lead the all-rounders charts.
