Journalists from the print and electronic media on Wednesday rallied to protest against the brutal killing of senior Karnataka Editor Gauri Lankesh in Bengaluru in Karnataka a day earlier.
She was Editor of popular Kannada tabloid Gauri Lankesh Patrike.
A large number of journalists shouted slogans and demanded the arrest of her killers. They said the killing was "an affront on the freedom of expression".
In a statement issued here, Madras Union of Journalists General Secretary R. Mohan said he strongly condemned the murder and demanded the arrest and punishment of the murderers at the earliest to prevent such incidents in the future.
