City-based hospitality and yacht charterer Chona Property Management Ltd is in talks with some investors to maintain and operate yachts on revenue-sharing basis, said a top company official here Tuesday.

"A couple of investors has shown interest in investing in a luxury yacht. Discussions are on. The owners can use the yacht and the vessel can also be chartered out," E.M.C. Palaniappan, chairman, told IANS on the sidelines of a press meet held to launch the company's operations.

He also said the company would soon start its scheduled yacht service from Chennai port by selling tickets.

"The tickets will be priced about Rs.3,000 per person while taking the yacht on charter the per head charge would come to Rs.1,750 for a three-hour trip," Palaniappan said.

Launching the yacht charter services here, company CEO Indrajit Kalidasan said there is huge interest in sea adventure, but the potential has not been tapped properly.

He said the company will be targeting corporates, hotels and others for chartering its first 15-seater Moonbeam yacht.

"Yacht chartering service is well developed in Mumbai and Cochin. In Chennai, we are the first operator. We have three charter packages starting from Rs.28,000 for three hours, Rs.36,500 for four-and-half hours and Rs.45,000 for six hours," Kalidasan said.

Kalidasan said the company has tied up with beach resorts for offering its yacht service to their guests.
