China has imported an air-cushioned landing craft that will be delivered soon to the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, a military spokesman said Thursday.
Geng Yansheng, a spokesman for the ministry of national defence, made the remarks at a press briefing, Xinhua reported.
The air-cushioned landing craft has reportedly been bought from Ukraine.
"The amphibious hovercraft has arrived in China and will be delivered to the PLA Navy at a proper time," he said.
He, however, said that China's "weapon research and development is solely for national security and not aimed at any specific country or region".
