The Indian Coast Guard on Friday said it rescued eight Indian fishermen who were stranded off the Gujarat coast for three days due to bad weather.
Their fishing boat Mayur Sagar was caught up in the inclement weather around 1.8 nautical miles off the Saurashtra coast since August 29.
An Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) was sent from Coast Guard air enclave in Porbandar in the morning and the stranded men winched up from the boat and taken to the nearest beach area, Coast Guard officials said.
They were later provided first aid at the district headquarters of Coast Guard.
"All crew members are stable, and were shifted to hospital for further medical care."
