The Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) feels it is irrelevant to raise the issue of financial compensation with the international paralympic body over the decision to bar the entire Russian Paralympian team from the 2016 Rio games, RPC President Vladimir Lukin has said.
"The Executive Committee of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) discussed at its session today issues of financial importance, but no definite decisions were made," Lukin said on Saturday, reports Tass.
"Are we talking here about the financial compensation from the International Paralympic Committee? This issue was never raised and it is irrelevant."
On August 7, the IPC decided to bar the whole Russian Paralympic team from taking part in the 2016 Summer Paralympics, to be held from September 7 in Brazil.
Acting on a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) report that said Russia had facilitated a widespread, systematic doping scheme before and after the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014, IPC banned Russia from participating in the Paralympic Games.
According to the report, between 2011 and 2015, the Russian Ministry of Sport erased at least 312 positive doping tests.
