Six people, including a computer engineer and two property dealers, were arrested for robbing a businessman, police said Wednesday.
Rashid, 29, Punit, 31, Mohd. Shafiq, 26, Danish, 28, Mahender Yadav, 22, and Ashutosh, 28, were arrested Tuesday from their hideouts here when they were planning to leave the city.
The accused had Aug 22 entered Ashok Kumar Rakian's house in south Delhi's Greater Kailash-III and robbed him of jewellery worth lakhs of rupees and Rs.10 lakh in cash at gun point.
"During interrogation, they disclosed that they became habitual offenders as they did not earn enough to meet the requirements of their families," said a police officer.
They told police that they always carried knives and country-made pistols and never hesitated to use them if someone offered resistance.
While Ashutosh is a computer engineer, Rashid and Punit are property dealers.
Police have recovered the jewellery and cash along with the weapons.
