In a jolt to the Congress in Madhya Pradesh, the party's popular face in the Vidhya region, Himadri Singh, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), here on Wednesday.
She had contested the 2016 Shahdol Parliamentary by-election on a Congress ticket.
Daughter of two-term former Congress MPs Dalvir Singh and Rajesh Nandini, Himadri joined the BJP at the party headquarters in the presence of state BJP President Rakesh Singh.
Though she expressed her desire to contest elections from Shahdol, Singh insisted that nothing had been decided in this regard.
Himadri, married to BJP leader Narendra Maravi, has been accused of campaigning for BJP candidates in the past.
