The Congress Tuesday named Surender Prakash Sharma as the party candidate from Gandhi Nagar seat, from where Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely had won in 2013.
The decision came two days after the Congress decided that Lovely will not contest the polls and look after the party organisation.
Party leader P.C. Chacko, who is in charge of party affairs in Delhi, had told reporters Sunday that the party requested Lovely to withdraw from the contest and look after the organisation of the elections.
The Congress also announced that Meenakshi Chandila will be the candidate from Rajouri Garden.
