Brazil's top football side Corinthians have reportedly signed Uruguay international playmaker Nicolas Lodeiro from Botafogo on a four-year deal, agreeding to pay $2 million for 50 percent of the player's economic rights.
The 25-year-old joined the Sao Paulo-based club Thursday after passing a medical while training with Uruguay's World Cup squad in Canelones, about 35km north of Montevideo, reports Xinhua.
Lodeiro made 85 first-team appearances and scored 17 goals for Botafogo after joining from Ajax in 2012. He is expected to join the Brazilian Serie A club after the World Cup, in mid-July.
