English football club Crystal Palace announced the signing of Sunderland striker Connor Wickham for nine million pounds until June 2020.
The 22-year-old, who joined Sunderland in 2011, has signed a five-year contract with Crystal Palace, which ended 10th in the 2014-15 season of Premier League.
"I needed the fresh start, I had four years up north and it's been a bit stop-start," the Englishman, scorer of 15 goals in 91 games with Sunderland, said.
"Now I've come back home and I can settle down and see my family a bit more and hopefully let my football do the talking."
The attacker, who played with the English Under-21 team 17 times, is the fourth signing for Crystal Palace in the summer transfer market after midfielder Yohan Cabaye, goalkeeper Alex McCarthy and striker Patrick Bamford.
