After being bagged by the new team Dabang Mumbai for a whopping $78,000, Australian mid-fielder Matthew Swann is all keyed up and is eagerly waiting for the Hero Hockey India League (HIL) 2015 to begin.
The 25-year-old, who played for the now-defunct Mumbai Magicians in the inaugural edition in 2013, said the new outfit is capable of springing a few surprises in the tournament to be held Jan 22-Feb 22.
"This will be my second appearance in the HIL and I am very excited for it. The league will provide me with a priceless opportunity to play alongside some of the best hockey players of the world like Tom Boon, who is currently the most complete hockey player and the young Harmanpreet Singh, who has been doing wonders in the Indian junior Team recently," Swann, the 2011 International Hockey Federation (FIH) Young Player of the Year.
"Also the team has the experience of Glen Turner, Nick Catlin, Floris Evers, Arjun Halappa, David Harte to name a few which will add the much-required strength to our entire line-up," he added.
"We have names to which the world of hockey reckons with and I am sure we will create the much-required upset," Swann, who played crucial role in Australia's World Cup-winning campaign in 2010, concluded.
