'Date for Syria peace talks not finalised'

The UN and Arab League Joint Special Representative for Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, said Tuesday that the tripartite meeting of the UN, Russia and the US failed to set a date for the Syria peace talks, known as Geneva II.

He said they were still striving to convene the Geneva II meeting before the end of the year, Xinhua reported.

The three parties will hold a preparatory meeting again Nov 25, he said.
