Dating not on Mel C's agenda

London, April 24 (IANS) Singer-songwriter Melanie Chisholm isn't interested in finding a man because she wants to focus on her career and being a good mother to her daughter.

Also known as Mel C, she has been single since splitting from Thomas Starr in 2012 after being together for 10 years.

Mel C has a four-year-old daughter Scarlet with Starr.

"Dating isn't on the agenda at the moment. I've got my little girl, who is my priority, and my career. if a nice chap comes along then wonderful, but I don't know whether I want to put myself through the pain of dating," femalefirst.co.uk quoted her as saying.

"There are so many of us in our 30s and 40s, single girls, if you're ambitious then your career comes first and the man goes on the backburner," she added.

The singer said she wouldn't date a famous man because she has always avoided romances with guys in the same industry.

The 39-year-old, who has worked in a stage musical "Jesus Christ Superstar", knows people who have tried newspaper dating services, but she thinks that would not work for her.
