Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) vice president C.K. Khanna has proposed it offers membership to corporate houses to improve its financial position and offer more opportunities to budding players.

"I propose the following proposal for consideration of the executive committee of DDCA as per article 3 of the articles of association of the DDCA. We can invite corporate companies of repute to become members by paying a one-time membership fee," Khanna said in a letter to the DDCA's executive committee on Thursday.

"This limited membership shall be under corporate member category as mandated in the articles and shall be open to only well-established corporate houses. The corporate members shall enjoy some extra privileges. The executive committee, if (they) agree, can decide on such membership fee such as approximately Rs.3 crore (for) each corporate house (membership)," he added.

Khana also called on the DDCA's executive committee to allow corporate entities to form their own clubs affiliated to the association and hold an annual tournament for corporate teams on the lines of the DDCA League.

"DDCA proposes to hold annual corporate cricket league on the lines of DDCA League matches played between the cricket clubs affiliated to DDCA. Further each corporate house shall be entitled to enroll its own club and the same corporate club shall be affiliated to DDCA. However, the corporate clubs shall not hold any voting rights in the election of the sports working committee or the executive committee of DDCA," he said.

"It will be mandatory for each corporate house to field at least two cricketers of Delhi in their team and provide them scholarship, job opportunities and other facilities to budding cricketers," he added.

"This will provide the financial stability to DDCA as well as provide greater cricket opportunities for budding cricketers."

Elaborating further on his proposal, Khanna wrote,"The corporate house shall get to nominate any two persons for the membership as their official nominees and both persons will enjoy full membership rights except voting rights to the elections of executive committee of DDCA."

"The corporate house shall be entitled to complimentary match tickets and one VIP car park in the stadium for international and IPL matches played at Ferozeshah Kotla ground."
