Debjani Ghosh, Managing Director and Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Intel South Asia, will leave Intel by March-end and Prakash Mallya -- currently Director for Intel's Datacentre Group in Asia -- will take over, the company announced on Monday.

Jerry Tsao, Vice President APJ Regional Sales Group, announced the change in leadership for Intel India in an email to employees.

"This is a decision Debjani has been considering for some time. She has been extremely passionate and committed to helping the country make progress on its vision of Digital India and she has decided she would like to devote more of her time and energy to this endeavour," the email read.

Ghosh started with Intel in 1996 and has held numerous leadership roles over her 21-year career here. She has been the Managing Director for Intel in South Asia since 2012.

Her successor, Mallya is a veteran with 16 years of experience with the company. He joined Intel in 2000 as Business Development Manager in India and looked after the Financial Services segment.

He has held several regional roles, including Director for Intel's Datacentre Group in Asia.
