Goa Chief Minister Thursday said he would comment on reports of his induction in the union cabinet after an "official announcement" is made.
Parrikar was speaking to reporters at the Dabolim airport just after he returned from New Delhi.
Parrikar, the state BJP president and the party's organising secretary in Goa Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah.
The meeting came amid speculation that Parrikar would be appointed the country's next defence minister.
"Let there be an official announcement. Until then I cannot say anything," Parrikar said.
Parrikar also said he would think about the subject only after he gets a "request from (the) prime minister".
