Following incessant showers over the past two days, the national capital has achieved surplus rainfall this year of around 13 per cent, according to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

"Monsoon has been good till now in Delhi and is going positive. There will be good showers in the upcoming week as well. However there is still two months left for the monsoon to get over," said an IMD official.

However, private weather forecasting agency Skymet's Director Mahesh Palawat said: "There was deficit of rainfall till the month of June, however July has received decent rainfall. However from August, the monsoon will get weak and there can be a deficit of 5-6 per cent rainfall."

The maximum temperature on Friday was recorded at 28.3 degrees Celsius, six notches below the season's average while the minimum remained 25.2 degrees, two notches below season's average.

According to Skymet, Safdarjung recorded 45.8 mm of rains, Ayanagar 41.9 mm, Narela 54 mm, Palam 37.4 mm, and Ridge 46.2 mm.
