Delhi BJP President Manoj Tiwari on Tuesday accused the previous Congress government and the present one led by the AAP of not providing funds to regularise unauthorised colonies.

He said if voted to power again in the April 23 elections to the three municipal corporations, the party will compel the Aam Aadmi Party government to provide funds for the purpose.

"After winning the MCD elections, we will compel the (Arvind) Kejriwal government to provide funds for the regularisation of the unauthorised colonies in Delhi," Tiwari said at a public meeting in Sitapuri area.

"And if the government fails, we will take the matter to the court," he said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from northeast Delhi also alleged that both the earlier Congress government as well as the present one led by the Aam Aadmi Party were putting hindrances in the regularisation process.

"Even after the directions from the central government and the court, the Kejriwal government failed to provide funds to the municipal corporations for preparing plans for regularisation," Tiwari said.

"Thus, the three corporations are unable to work for the development of unauthorised colonies," the BJP leader said.
