A 42-year-old man from Delhi was shot dead here in broad daylight and another 34-year-old man was shot at in the early hours of Wednesday, police said.
Anil Shukla, who worked with a private courier company and was a resident of Delhi's Chandni Chowk, was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne youths near Sun City Apartments here on Golf Course road.
Shukla was walking towards a building after leaving an auto-rickshaw with a bag in his hand.
Police said that one of the youths who came on the bike tried to snatch the bag.
Shukla had a brief scuffle with him, but the robber shot him in his chest and managed to flee with the bag.
Sources said that no one on the spot, including a few private security guards, came forward to help the victim, nor was he rushed to a hospital.
The victim was lying on the road for over 20 minutes. Later, he was declared brought dead by doctors.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Hawa Singh told IANS: "Prima facie loot seems the motive behind the killing. We are trying to establish what was in the bag. Our investigation is on."
A case of loot and murder along with other sections of the IPC has been registered.
In another incident, 34-year-old Madan Sharma, a resident of nearby Jharsa village on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway, was shot by two unidentified men.
A senior police officer said that Sharma was standing near a temple in his village around 1 a.m. when he was attacked.
The critically injured victim was admitted to a private hospital.
Police have registered a case of attempt to murder.
"We are waiting for Sharma's statement," said the investigation officer.
