Doctors of the Delhi Medical Association (DMA) Wednesday staged a protest here demanding that the Delhi Government take action against quacks in the national capital.

According to Indian Medical Association (IMA), the number of quacks in Delhi, who are practising medicine, is estimated to be around 40,000.

"The DMA will not let quacks play with the health of common citizens of the city. DMA has always been critical of the illegal practice of quackery," DMA president Anil Goyal told reporters.

"The DMA suggests that quacks should be trained to work as healthcare workers. They should not be allowed to prescribe any medicine to anybody," he added.
