Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday paid tribute to the city's first Chief Minister, Chaudhary Brahm Prakash, on his death anniversary here and said that after so many years his dream of full-statehood to Delhi remains elusive.
"The issues for which we are fighting today, for the rights of people of Delhi and to get it the status of a complete state, Chaudhary Brahm Prakash fought for these issues in 1950," Kejriwal said at the Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Ayurved Charak Sansthan here.
Stressing that education and health are the top two priorities of his government, he said that people had complained to him about different issues related to the ayurvedic hospitals. "We will will inspect the hospital today and fix the issues," he said.
Talking about the work done by his government, Kejriwal said he had to struggle to make the "rusted government machinery" function again.
"You had seen the pathetic condition of the government schools, I am not saying that everything has improved in last two years but a lot has changed. This year government school's results were 10 per cent ahead of the private schools," Kejriwal said.
He said that the condition of the government hospitals had also improved. "I personally inspect the schools and hospital to know the issues and resolve them," Kejriwal said.
