Delhi woman commits suicide over husband's affair

Upset over her husband's extramarital affair, a 28-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself at her west Delhi home, police said on Friday.

The man has since been detained and is being questioned.

Suman took her own life in Shakurpur village on Wednesday night, though the incident was reported to police on Thursday after a relative came across the body.

"The woman objected to her husband Lucky's extramarital affair, which led to strained relations between the two.

"She called up her husband on Wednesday to return home but he refused. Suman then hanged herself," a senior police officer said.

She left a suicide note, accusing her husband of having an extramarital affair for the last two years. The couple, married for the last nine years, has three children.
