On the occasion of World Heart Day Sep 29, the message of good health and unity will be spread through the Direct Dil Se music concert.

The debut Direct Dil Se show will bring together musicians, health activists and medical professionals to address the growing concerns for a healthy heart in the country, said a statement.

Approximately 10 percent of the India's 1.2 Billion plus population is said to be affected by coronary heart and diseases. Hence, the idea behind the festival is to reach out to people in a fun way to raise awareness on key heart-related health issues.

"Awareness of heart health starts at an early age. Hence, we aim to reach out to this young population. This is a festival with a heart with an original set of never-seen-before acts. This is evident with the line-up as well as with the fact that ten genres of music are coming together for this festival," said Alok Nagpal, organizer, Direct Dil Se.

The event will witness musicians from many spectrums spreading awareness regarding "matters of the heart".

It will feature popular artists from the Indian music industry while the highpoint of the event will be an association between the legendary Wadali Brothers duo with some of the known musicians of the country.

Abhay Sapori, Bobby Cash, Shibani Kashyap, Mame Khan, Suhail Yusuf Khan, Hiten Panwar, Ashish Chauhan, Valentine Shipley, Rohit Kulkarni, Nikhil Kumar, Anil Chawla, Anirban Ghosh, Chintan Kalra, Kunal Wason, Kennedy Emaneul, Kabul and Kennedy Emaneul are some of the other names who will be a part of the event.

The evening will also feature a talk by K.K. Talwar, chairman, Board of Governors, Medical Council of India.

"It's a proven fact that playing or listening to music and physical well being go hand in hand. Music has many therapeutic effects on humans - it lowers anxiety and stress, which in turn helps people keep a bunch of stress related lifestyle diseases," said Talwar.

The festival is supported by the Billion Hearts Beating Foundation.
