Delhi University on Wednesday released the fourth cut-off list for the 2015 academic session, with many sought-after courses still available in prominent colleges while off-campus institutes closed admissions in most subjects.
The much-preferred English (Honours) was still up for grabs at colleges like Miranda House (95.25 percent), Lady Shri Ram College for Women (96 percent), Hindu (96.25 percent), Hansraj (95.5 percent) compared to colleges like Kamla Nehru, Janki Devi, Dyal Singh and Deshbandhu -- all of which closed admissions for the course.
Similarly, B.Com (Honours) was open at colleges like Hansraj and Hindu at 96.75 percent, Kirori Mal (96.5 percent), S.G.T.B. Khalsa (96.25 percent), while it was closed at institutes like Shyama Prasad Mukherji, Kamla Nehru, Bharti, I.P. College, Janki Devi and Maharaja Agrasen.
Seats were available for another preferred course, Economics, at colleges including Shri Ram College of Commerce (97.375 percent), Sri Venkateswara (96.25 percent), Miranda (96.25 percent), Ramjas (96.25 percent), Kirori Mal (96.25 percent), Hansraj (96.5 percent) and Hindu (97 percent), while admissions stood closed at Dyal Singh College, Kalindi College, Janki Devi College and Kamla Nehru College.
Journalism (Honours) was still open at Lady Shri Ram College (95.25 percent), Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (94.75 percent), Kamla Nehru College (94.5 percent), Maharaja Agrasen College (92 percent), while admissions were closed under the general category at Kalindi College for the course.
Most colleges closed admissions for courses like History, Philosophy and Political Science.
However, seats were still available at Hansraj College (History - 94.25 percent), Hindu College (History - 95.5 percent), Kamla Nehru (Political Science - 91.5 percent), while seats for all three subjects were up for grabs at Lady Shri Ram College at 95.25 percent, 91 percent and 96.25 percent respectively.
Students can complete their admission formalities between July 9 and July 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
