Essel Infraprojects Limited Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rajasthan government for setting up a solar power park of 5,000 MW capacity.
"Managing director of state-owned Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation B.K. Dosi and CEO of Essel Infra Ashok Agarwal signed the MoU in the presence of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje," an official statement said.
Essel Group chairman Subhash Chandra was also present on the occasion.
As per the MoU, a joint venture company would be set up for developing solar parks in the next four years in a phased manner with an investment of Rs.4,000 crore.
"Rajasthan is changing and transforming. Thanks to a series of policy initiatives the state government has taken in the recent past. Several investors have shown interest in investing in the state," Raje said.
