Everyone is scared of love: John Legend

Singer John Legend says he is "scared of love" and admits it can be hard for men to open up in relationships at times.

The "All of me" hitmaker - who is married to model Chrissy Teigen - feels men put a "guard" up as they feel like they're 'not supposed to show emotion', reports bbc.co.uk.

"Everyone is scared of love because you might get hurt. Men have the added challenge of feeling like they're not supposed to show emotion so we guard ourselves more than women. Although when you find the right person at the right time you realise they should be a high priority," Legend said.

The 37-year-old singer - who has six-month-old daughter Luna with Chrissy - also said that there is one song on his new album which makes him "pretty emotional" as it is about his daughter.

He said: "I wrote a song just for her on this new album. I still get pretty emotional when I hear the song. I'm still going to make whatever music inspires me but I won't be scared to incorporate the fact that I'm a father into what I'm thinking about."
