Five people were injured when armed men stormed a university in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Wednesday, a media report said.
Heavy firing was on inside Bacha Khan University in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Charsadda town, witnesses said. Several people heard explosions, Dawn reported.
State-run PTV quoted a police official as saying that three armed men entered the university premises and opened fire. Television reports added that a large contingent of security forces had reached the site and wwere engaging the assailants in a gun battle.
A woman inside the university told Dawn that intense firing was under way.
