At least five militants were killed Tuesday when a group of gunmen attacked a police station in Afghanistan's Kunduz province.
"A five-member armed group equipped with suicide vests and assault rifles attacked a police station in Kunduz city," a police official said.
"But all were killed within 20 minutes," Xinhua quoted the official as saying.
He said the first suicide bomber, wearing police uniform, blew himself up next to the station gate after the police identified and ordered him to stop.
Three others entered the compound but police personnel shot them dead.
The fifth attacker, driving an explosive laden-car, detonated his vehicle outside the station, the official said.
Meanwhile, Taliban militants have claimed of responsibility for the attack.
