Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas enjoyed a comfortable debut as his side enjoyed a 5-1 home win with Cristiano Ronaldo bagging four against Elche in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium here.
The Costa Rican was named in the side ahead of veteran Spanish keeper Iker Casillas, but one of his first actions was to pick the ball out of the net after Elche Tuesday took a shock lead following a Paco Albacar penalty in the 16th minute, reports Xinhua.
Elche's lead didn't last for long as Gareth Bale scored with a header.
Ronaldo recorded his second hat-trick in four days with two of his goals Tuesday night coming from the penalty spot.
His first goal came after 27 minutes. Full back Marcelo dived in the Elche penalty area, but fooled referee Clos Gomez who pointed to the spot from which Ronaldo made no mistake.
There was no doubting his second of the night as he produced another excellent header to make the score 3-1.
In the 80th minute, Ronaldo went to ground in the penalty area after his heel was clipped by an Elche player.
Ronaldo completed his hat-trick with a powerfully driven spot kick and the Portuguese striker added his fourth of the night as he romped through the middle of the Elche defence in the last minute of the game.
