Four persons were killed and over a dozen critically injured on Saturday when a 11,000 volt electrical wire fell on a passenger bus in Banda in Uttar Pradesh, police said.
An Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corp (UPSRTC) bus was going to Banda when the steering failed. As the driver could not control the bus, it hit an electrical pole before falling into a roadside ditch.
Immediately, the 11,000 volt electrical wire snapped and fell on the bus after which it caught fire, an official told IANS. The bus was gutted.
The incident took place on the Jaspura-Bhatha road.
