HBO has officially renewed the hit fantasy drama series "Game of Thrones" for a seventh season, ahead of the premiere of its sixth season.
The renewal announcement does not reveal the number of episodes for season 7, reports aceshowbiz.com.
Recently, it was reported that showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss were considering shorter two final seasons for the TV series, which is an adaptation of "A Song of Ice and Fire", George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels.
The season six of "Game of Thrones" will air in India on Star World Premiere HD on April 26.
HBO has also renewed "Veep" and "Silicon Valley", ahead of their fifth and third season premiere respectively on Sunday.
The renewals bring "Veep" into its sixth season and "Silicon Valley" into its fourth season.
