Ghanaian international footballer Baba Rahman will move to English Premier League (EPL) defending champions Chelsea on a five-year deal from German club FC Augsburg.
"I am very happy to sign for Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world, and I can't wait to train with my new teammates and very much looking forward to working with them and (head coach Jose) Mourinho," the defender told Chelsea's official website on Sunday.
Chelsea will sign the 21-year-old, who has played 11 times for Ghana, for an initial fee of 14 million pounds, dailymail.co.uk reported on Sunday.
The deal will see a further 3.5 million pounds paid in bonuses depending on Chelsea performances, 700,000 pounds after he completes 20 games and a further 3.5 million pounds after he has made 100 appearances -- meaning the total value of the deal could reach almost 22 million pounds.
Rahman, a pacy and attacking full-back who can also operate as a midfielder or winger, made more successful tackles than any other player in the Bundesliga last season. He also attempted the most crosses from the left flank.
He arrives after one season with Augsburg, in which he helped them qualify for the Europa League, making 31 league appearances.
Rahman previously spent two seasons with Greuther Furth in Germany, having been spotted as a youngster with Asante Kotoko in his homeland.
