Police in the popular beach village of Anjuna have booked a well-known Goa-based yoga instructor for raping a foreigner, while his wife, also a yoga teacher, has been booked for threatening the victim.

According to the first information report registered at the Anjuna police station by the foreign national, Pratik Agarwal, 35, a native of Allahabad who runs a yoga school in Siolim, had sex without her consent in October last year, which subsequently led to pregnancy.

"The victim has claimed that she was threatened by the accused's wife to leave India," a police spokesperson said on Thursday.
