Krathish Bopanna finished second in the Duke of Edinburgh Cup at the Millride Golf course here on Tuesday.
With a total of 72 Stableford points, Bopanna finished two points adrift of the winner Richard Wright from England.
Bopanna hit 11 pars and one birdie for a total of 40 points on day one at the Buckinghamshire Golf Course and followed it up with a score of 32 including nine pars on Day Two at the Millride Golf Course.
"Millride Golf Course was a challenging course and it had deep roughs and narrow fairways, the weather and windy conditions further made it difficult to score well.
"On day one, I played one-over on back nine and that made me third on the leader board behind two Englishmen. On the second day, I couldn't deliver the goods and ended with a double bogey and triple bogey," Bopanna said after his round.
"Perhaps, the tough conditions saw Englishmen also mishit quite a lot of their drives. I am happy that I could finish second in my maiden attempt."
The Duke of Edinburgh World Finals witnessed the participation of 40 golfers from 18 countries. They will also play a match at the Royal Household Golf Club on the grounds of Windsor Castle on Thursday.
The Duke of Edinburgh Cup is an annual international series of golf events. The objective is to raise substantial funds to help young people lead better lives.
