Senior BJP leader and former finance minister Yashwant Sinha on Tuesday expressed doubt over the April 1, 2016, deadline to implement the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
"Implementation of the GST on April 1 will be a very challenging task," he said at an event organised by the Merchant Chamber of Commerce and Industry here.
According to Sinha the implementation requires close coordination between the centre and the states, and the deadline is very ambitious.
"States have a very important role to play," he said.
